Bernard Starman will officiate.  Visitation will be 5-7 pm Thursday, May 15, 2025 with a 7:00 pm Catholic Daughters Rosary at Biglin's Mortuary in O'Neill.  Alice passed away on Wednesday, August 14, 2024 in Oklahoma City.  Memorials may be directed to the family for future designation.  Biglin's Mortuary in O'Neill is in charge of arrangements.

Alice was born June 27, 1936 to Ralph and Anna (Swensen) Dunkelberger in Onida, South Dakota.  She grew up on a farm near Page, NE and went to school at a one room county schoolhouse.  She married Edgar (Sonny) J. Boyle on August 9, 1952 in Vermillion, South Dakota.  To this union three children were born, Edgar (Jim) J. Boyle Jr, Shirley J. Chmiel and Timothy Boyle.

Alice worked as a homemaker and ran the administrative side of Boyle Trucking which ran from coast to coast.  She kept the books, scheduled loads for drivers, and kept they're four trucks running, insuring they got their loads.  She often packed up the kids and met Sonny at different locations to deliver parts when needed.  Alice did this for 30 years.  In addition to raising children, and helping to run a business, she was President of the American Legion for 10 years, a member of The Catholic Daughters and the VFW.  After Sonny retired from trucking, she then went to work for North Star in O'Neill for 15 years.  When Sonny retired from the Post Office Alice also retired to spend time with him.

She had a love for travel and they finally had time to travel with their motor home.  They enjoyed their RV, camping and taking different trips with their siblings and family members.  Sometimes they would take Tim and Alice's mother Anna in the RV and travel coast to coast to see lots of the places Edgar had traveled during his 30 years of trucking.

Alice was a wonderful cook!  She loved to bake delicious rolls, pies, and other desserts.  Alice had many interests.  She loved sewing, working on quilts, and embroidering.  She loved to garden, from flowers, trees, and bushes to produce.  She had a very green thumb.  She often shared clippings from her plants and extra produce with friends and family.  She loved canning and pickle making and often got a helping hand from her mom and her daughter Shirley.  Memories Shirley will cherish for the rest of her life.

In 2022 Alice moved to Oklahoma City with her daughter Shirley.  She loved the warmer weather.  She was a city girl now and loved to go to the botanical gardens, and visit all the wonderful places to shop and restaurants available.  But her favorite thing was being surrounded with family and friends, sharing meals nightly, doing crafts, going for ice cream, and enjoying the visiting, silliness, and laughter.  One of her last trips was to New Orleans, LA.  She was excited to see the big ships docking at port, the Gulf of Mexico, and all the wonderful sites of the city.

Alice will be remembered as a woman with an infinite capacity for love and compassion.  She was a great listener and conversationalist and she genuinely loved life and people.  She was a natural and wonderful shining example of servant leadership.  She was always thinking of others and putting their needs first, especially with her family.  They were very important to her and she was fortunate to have them visit often.  Alice touched so many lives and was deeply loved by her family and friends.  She will be greatly missed by all those that knew and loved her.  She was a loyal wife and friend, and a great mother.  Her children feel so blessed to have had her as their mother.

Alice is survived by her children Shirley Chmiel and Tim Boyle (Angela), daughter-in-law Mary Boyle, 14 Grandchildren, 18 Great Grandchildren, and a sister Darlene Stritecky.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Anna Dunkelberger, Husband Edgar J Boyle Sr., son Edgar J. Boyle Jr., and sisters Esther Hale and Edna Huckins.
