Private Graveside services for Bob Jokumsen, age 61 of Sunshine Bottom will be at a later date in the Highland Cemetery, north of Lynch.  Bob passed away unexpectedly on March 9, 2026 at his home.  Memorials may be directed to his family for future designation.   Arrangements are entrusted to Biglin's Mortuary in O'Neill.

Robert Dale Jokumsen was born on January 2, 1965, in Lynch, Nebraska, to Donald and Joyce (Holz) Jokumsen.  He grew up surrounded by family and the close-knit community of north-central Nebraska.  Bob graduated from Fremont High School in 1983 and attended Hastings College for a short time before beginning his working life.

For many years, Bob worked as a truck driver hauling produce across the country.  He appreciated the independence of the road and the work it brought him.  In 2005, Bob returned to his roots and moved back to the family farm at Sunshine Bottom, where he enjoyed the quiet of country living and being close to family roots.

Bob enjoyed spending time watching sports on television, especially NASCAR races.  He found simple pleasure in following his favorite drivers and keeping up with the latest races.

Bob is survived by his mother, Joyce Jokumsen of Derby, Kansas; his siblings, Donnette (Adam) Garrett of Fremont, Nebraska, Barbara Jokumsen of Fremont, Nebraska, James Jokumsen of Erie, Colorado, and Jennifer (Justin) Strobel of Derby, Kansas; nieces and nephews, Nicole (Jon) Harre, Andrew Jokumsen, Kaitlyn (Josh) Walker, and Zach Strobel; and his great-nieces, Blake Jokumsen and Ellie Harre.

He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Jokumsen, and his nephew, Nathan Reker.

Bob will be remembered by his family for his love of home, his enjoyment of sports, and the time he spent at Sunshine Bottom.
