Funeral Services for Bonnie Friesen, age 83, of Atkinson, Nebraska will be 10:00 am Thursday, September 18, 2025 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Atkinson.  Burial will follow in the Chambers Cemetery, Chambers, NE.  Rev. Lief Hasskarl will officiate.  Visitation will be from 5-7pm Wednesday, September 17, 2025 at Biglin's Mortuary in O'Neill with a Prayer Service at 7pm.  Bonnie passed away on Friday, September 12, 2025 at the Good Samaritan Society in Atkinson.  Memorials may be directed to the Chambers American Legion Auxiliary #320 or Atkinson Vol. Fire and Rescue Department.  Arrangements are under the direction of Biglin's Mortuary in O'Neill.

Bonnie Lee Peterson was born on June 22, 1942 in O'Neill, Nebraska to Leonard and Adele (Meyer) Peterson.  She grew up in Chambers and attended Chambers High School.

After high school Bonnie worked various jobs, she moved to Henderson, Nebraska where she worked for the Town House as a waitress for several years.  Bonnie then worked as a sales person for the plastic factory in Alda, Nebraska before moving to Aurora, Nebraska where she managed the kitchen at the Motor Inn in and worked construction for Ken Wortman.

Bonnie married Garry Friesen on April 12, 1991 in Aurora.  She managed the Friesen Campground in Henderson before moving back to the Chambers area to retire.

She was a member of the Chambers American Legion Auxiliary #320.

She enjoyed gardening, hunting, and putting puzzles together.

Bonnie is survived by her children, Bud (Linda) Sanderson of O'Neill, NE, Leonard (Christine) Sanderson of Eustace, TX , Tony (Susan) Sanderson of Chambers, NE; and her cherished grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by Leonard and Adele Peterson; brothers, Merel Peterson, Wayne Peterson; sister, Norma Pavlis; husband, Garry Friesen in 2006.
