A Mass of Christian Burial for Cecilia "Cec" Carr, age 78, of Amelia, will be at 10:30 A.M., Tuesday, April 26, 2016, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in O'Neill. Burial will be in the O'Neill Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, April 25, 2016, from 5-8 P.M., with a 7:00 P.M. Rosary at Biglin's Mortuary in O'Neill. Cecilia passed away Thursday, April 21, 2016, at Faith Regional Hospital in Norfolk, NE. Memorials may be made to the family for future designation or for Masses.

She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Darrel, 3 children: Debra Cooper and husband Rod, of SanTan Valley, AZ, Darla Dexter and husband Ron of Amelia, NE, DaNay Loseke and husband Gary of Battle Creek, NE, 9 Grandsons: Brandon and Dustin Cooper, Brogan, Brady, Mikhail, Gabriel, and McKensie Dexter, and Matthew and Austin Marx, 2 Great Grandsons: Bentley and Braxton Dexter, one sister, Bessie Walnofer of O'Neill, NE, and many other relatives and friends.

Cecilia was born on June 22, 1937 on the family farm south of O'Neill, NE, to John and Frances (Soukup) Peter. She attended District 165 School south of O'Neill, then graduated from St. Mary's Academy in 1955. After graduating from High School, Cecilia received her Teacher's Certificate from Norfolk. She then taught school for 2 years at District 216, one mile east of the family ranch. She married Darrel Carr on July 16, 1957, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in O'Neill, NE.

She loved being a mother, raising her kids and being a homemaker. She also helped her husband farm and ranch. She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church and Altar Society. Cecilia loved to read, and she and Darrel enjoyed traveling in their later years. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and was known as the "favorite grandma" to all of them.

She was preceded in death by her parents, son Darwin D. Carr, and granddaughter Ashley Marx.
