As a treat, her father would take her fishing occasionally on summer evenings.  She attended Vacation Bible school at Center Union Church and Sunday services at O'Neill United Methodist Church.  She also spent a week each summer at Camp Witness, where she accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior in her early years.

She moved to Columbus, Nebraska and worked at Valentino's, before switching hats after a few years to work at Pizza Hut.  During her years in Columbus, she received an Associate's degree in Computer Programming.  She enjoyed spending time with her cousins in the Columbus area. She moved back to O'Neill, Nebraska in 2023, and worked part-time at Bomgaars during the spring and summer.

Charlotte enjoyed collecting Coca-Cola, M & M and Nascar collectibles, baseball and football trading cards, cookbooks, music from her teenage years and favorite movies.  She loved to read romance mystery and drama novels.  She enjoyed cooking and gifting presents at Christmas to family, and playing card games with family during the holidays.
