A Memorial Service for Charlotte Hamilton, age 76, of O'Neill, Nebraska will be 10:30 am Monday, August 17, 2026 at Biglin's Mortuary in O'Neill.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.  Pastor Bob Wynn will officiate.  A Private Family Inurnment will be held at the Ewing Cemetery at a later date.  Charlotte passed away on Monday, August 10, 2026 at Avera St. Anthony's Hospital in O'Neill.  Arrangements are entrusted to Biglin's Mortuary in O'Neill.

Charlotte Elaine Spangler was born May 10, 1950 to Charles and Frances (Sands) Spangler in Tilden, Nebraska.  She was raised on a farm seven miles south of Ewing, Nebraska, and attended Holt County Country School through the eighth grade.  Charlotte then attended Ewing High School and graduated with the class of 1968.

After high school Charlotte moved to Denver where she worked at JC Penny's Warehouse and at Handy Dan's as a receiving manager.  After living in Denver for eight years, Charlotte moved back to O'Neill.

Charlotte met and later married Steven Hamilton in O'Neill on October 17, 1981.  To this union one son was born, Jason.  Charlotte worked for the S&S Warehouse in O'Neill until it closed.  She also had her CDL and teamed up with Steve driving truck for eight years.  She also raised and sold asparagus for 20 years.  Charlotte also drove the Avera Van at the hospital for a few years.

Charlotte was a long-time member of the Ewing United Methodist Presbyterian Church.

She enjoyed cooking and baking, along with attending card parties.  Charlotte also enjoyed camping, fishing, and especially ice fishing, and going to the casinos.  She also enjoyed gardening and flowers.  But most importantly she enjoyed spending time with her family.

Charlotte is survived by her husband, Steve Hamilton of O'Neill; son, Jason (Desiree) Hamilton of O'Neill; three grandchildren, Mercedes Hamilton, Dominic Hamilton, Myles Hamilton; four great grandchildren, Breawna Davidson, Sophya Davidson, Brayson McCargill, Sawyer McCargill; brothers, Lyle (Trudy) Spangler of Ewing, and Francis (Mary) Heumesser of Gering.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Frances Spangler; sister, Mary (John) Heumesser; brothers, Roger Hamilton, John Hamilton, Robert Hamilton, and Kent Will; grandson, Caleb McCargill; father and mother-in-law, Todd and Maxine Hamilton.
