Private Family Services for Christine "Chris" Sanders, age 87, of O'Neill, will be held at a later date.

She passed away Monday, January 1, 2018, at Avera St. Anthony's Hospital in O'Neill.

Memorials may be given to the Holt County Humane Society in Honor of Christine.  Biglin's Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Christine was born on December 12, 1930, in Omaha, NE, to Emil and Xerxa (Whitney) Petersen.  Growing up, her father was a cook for the Union Pacific Railroad, so the family traveled with him, living on the train.  Christine married Richard Sanders on September 27, 1954 in O'Neill, NE.  She worked at the O'Neill Senior Citizens Home from 1975, until she retired in 1997, where she was a nurse's aide, medication aide and laundry supervisor.  Christine was an avid reader, quilter and traveler, preferring to travel by train if she could.

She is survived by her children and spouses, David Cradit and wife, M.J., of Vallejo, CA, Bob Sanders and wife, Beth, of O'Neill, Randy Sanders and wife, Rose, of Sioux Falls, SD, Cathy Coburn and husband, Gregg, of O'Neill, NE; ten grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; and 6 great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard; one son, Rick Cradit and wife, Jeanette.
