A Funeral Mass for Claire Musil, age 89 of O'Neill, NE will be 10:30 am Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in O'Neill, NE.  Burial will be in the O'Neill Cemetery. Fr. Bernard Starman will officiate.

Visitation will be Monday, July 2 ^, 2018 from 5-7 pm at Biglin's Mortuary in O'Neill with Rosary at 7 pm.

Claire passed away Thursday, June 28, 2018 at the Faith Regional Hospital in Norfolk, NE.

Biglin's Mortuary in O'Neill is in charge of arrangements.

Claire Marie Musil was born on December 31, 1928 in St. Edward, NE to Walter and Mabel (Smith) Smith.  When Claire was seven, she moved with her family to California, where she grew up and finished school.  She met Francis Musil when he was stationed in California while in the Navy.  They returned to Nebraska and were married in April 11, 1947 at St. Patrick's Church in O'Neill, NE.

Claire enjoyed life in the country while raising their eight children.  She painted pictures and crocheted many afghans for her children and grandchildren.  She loved birds, flowers, reading and keeping up with current events.   She remained at her home in the country after Francis passed away in 2000 until moving into O'Neill in September 2012. She was living at the Evergreen Assisted Living Home.

Claire is survived by her eight children and their spouses; Anna Simpson of Norfolk, NE, Phyllis and Terry Harpster of Ewing, NE, Francis Musil and friend Laura Romero of Puerto Penasco, Mexico, Bob and Mariclaire Musil of O'Neill, NE, Ken and Irene Musil of Inman, NE, Kathy and Bill Barram of Colorado Springs, CO, Barbara and Mel Moore of Lincoln, NE and Chris and Todd Miller of O'Neill, NE; 25 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Helen Heese of O'Neill, and Marge Chapman of Chico, CA; and many nieces and nephews.

Claire was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Francis in 2000; daughter -in-law, Terri Musil; three sisters and their spouses, Mattie and Glen Roberts, Muriel and Dick Kendall and Phyllis and Herk Geddes; three brothers, Robert, Paul and Frank Smith; sisters and brothers in law, Dorothy and Leroy Dobrovolny, Mary and Ben Schmit, and Joe and Vendla Musil.
