Memorial Services for Debra (Chaney) Rhodes, age 71, of Grand Island will be at 11:00 am on Saturday, September 14, 2024 at Biglin's Mortuary in O'Neill, Nebraska.  Memorial Visitation will be from 10:30 until service time at the Mortuary.  Debra passed away on Saturday, August 31, 2024 at Grand Island Regional Medical Center in Grand Island.  In Lieu of flowers, please make donations to her family for support of St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.  Arrangements are entrusted to Biglin's Mortuary in O'Neill.

Debra Ann Chaney was born on November 14, 1952 in Atkinson, Nebraska to Donald and Yvonne (Tielke) Chaney.  She passed away peacefully with family by her side on Saturday, August 31, 2024.

Deb grew up and went to school in Atkinson and O'Neill, NE.  She worked at the Thompson Company for over 30 years and transferred to Grand Island in 1986, where she met Tom Rhodes and they married on May 2, 1997.

They both enjoyed camping and fishing together.  Tom would fish and Deb would read her books.

She enjoyed her grandkids and great grandkids.

Deb is survived by her husband of 27 years, Tom Rhodes of Grand Island; her sister, Micki (Bradd) Richter of Doniphan; her brother, Doug (Tish) Chaney O'Neill; three step sons, Tim (Shannon) Rhodes of Slayton, Minnesota, Tony (Linda) Rhodes of Wood Lake, Minnesota, Richard Rhodes of Missouri; many nieces and nephews.

She had one son, David Peterson.  She was preceded in death by her son, David in 2008; her parents; and brother Randy Chaney.
