Funeral Services for Delores Nelson, age 87, of Neligh and formerly of Bristow will be at 11 am on Wednesday, May 20, 2026 at Rosedale Evangelical Covenant Church, North of Bristow with burial to follow in the Rosedale Evangelical Covenant Cemetery.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.  Delores passed away on Wednesday, May 13, 2026 at Nebraska Medicine in Omaha due to injuries received in a car accident.  Memorials may be directed to her family for future designation.  Arrangements are entrusted to Biglin's Mortuary in Spencer.

Delores Fern Wells was born October 21, 1938 to Clifford and Lala (Buttolph) Wells in Lynch, Nebraska.  Delores attended elementary school at Redbird District #3 before attending high school in Lynch.  She graduated with the class of 1956.  After high school, Delores attended Chadron State College for two years for Normal Training.  She then returned home and began teaching in Holt County.

On January 16, 1960, Delores married Clifford Nelson.  They were blessed with one daughter, Diane Kay.  They lived in the Baker Community before making their home north of Bristow.  They moved to Neligh in 2006 after Diane passed away.

Delores was active in Rosedale Evangelical Covenant Church and attended bible study in Neligh.

Delores loved to read books and go to the library.  She also loved to go fishing, going for walks, and gardening.  Delores enjoyed cooking for her family, often hosted family Thanksgiving in Neligh at the Legion, and was known for her famous baked beans and weenies and her fresh baked bread.

Delores is survived by her siblings, Lyle Wells of Hartington, NE, Don (Carol) Wells of Columbus, NE, Albert (Marla) Wells of Columbus, NE, Etta Mae Olson of Albion, NE, Mary (Ron) Sutton of Genoa, NE, Anna Ertz of O'Neill, NE, Rilla (Francis) Hanzlik of Ewing, NE; sister-in-law, Jan Wells of Blue Hill, NE; brother-in-law, Oliver (Lorraine) Nelson of Spencer, NE; special daughter, Rhonda Moehlenhoff; many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clifford in 2019; daughter, Diane in 2005; brothers, Bob Wells and Wilmer Wells; brothers-in-law, Butch Ertz, Warren Olson, and Kenneth Nelson; and sister-in-law, Shirley Wells.
