Don was born in St. Louis, MO to Truman and Ruth (Stiller) Miller on January 19th, 1955. Don grew up and went to school in Logan, UT and later attended college at the University of Wyoming receiving a Bachelor of Science. An education, and state, he was very proud of. He continued to live and work there until his oldest son, Jakob, was born. He then moved to Weld County, CO near Ft. Collins. Here he continued to work for Keith Burman as a farm and ranch hand. Don had 2 more children, Evan, and Jordan, and eventually made his way to Butte County, SD where he operated his own farm and ranch for 7 years. Don moved to Spencer NE around 2010 where he began trucking with Joel Sinclair until the date of his passing.
Don had numerous hobbies including, but not limited to baseball, football, and fishing. Don was a true cowboy through and through and was a very hardworking man who enjoyed the work he did on the farm and ranch. Don took great pleasure in blowing shit up, gardening, was an avid collector of guns, loved bird watching and always enjoyed an evening mowing his lawn with a stiff drink.
Don was a very proud grandfather to his 5 grandchildren: Adrianne, Porter, Fletcher, Margo & Joaquin. He was always happy when he was able to spend time with them. He was a great friend to those who knew him. He loved a good time and a great story. Don was a man of his word, very honest. Sometimes too much so…Those who loved him know he will be a pillar to look up to and to live up to.
Don is survived by his son, Jakob and Roxy (Loria) Miller, son Evan and Lacie (Novak) Miller, and daughter Jordan (Miller) and Jose Ponce; five grandchildren: Adrianne Novak, Porter, Fletcher, and Margo Miller, and Joaquin Ponce; sister, Marilyn Miller; niece, Shawnee Bastian; nephew, Dustin Ryan; and brother, Steve Miller.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Truman and Ruth Miller and brother, Gordon Miller.
