Funeral Services for Donelle Jean Hagan, age 71, of Bassett, Nebraska will be 11:00 am Friday, May 31, 2024 at Biglin's Mortuary in O'Neill, Nebraska.  Visitation will be on Friday morning from 9am until the time of the service at Biglin's Mortuary.  Pastor Mike Durre will officiate. Graveside Services will be at 2:00 pm at the Inman Cemetery in Inman, Nebraska.  Donelle passed away on Thursday, May 23, 2024 at Faith Regional Hospital in Norfolk, Nebraska.  Biglin's Mortuary of O'Neill is in charge of arrangements.

Donelle Jean Hartigan was born on June 6, 1952 in Norfolk, Nebraska to Paul and Naomi (Steinberg) Hartigan.  She grew up and attended Emporia School near Page, Nebraska before her family moved to Springfield, IL, where she graduated high school.

She married Scott Hagan at the Wesleyan Church in Atkinson, NE on February 24, 1979.  To this union five children were born, Jason, Justin, Jeremy, Mitch, and Sarah.  The couple made their home in Bassett, NE where Donelle worked at the Rock County Hospital for many years as a CNA, and as a receptionist in the clinic and pharmacy, retiring in 2014.  She was also a volunteer EMT for many years.

Donelle loved spending time with her grandchildren and her dog Lacey.  She enjoyed spending time with her friends, hunting for asparagus, and canning the vegetables out of her garden.  She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Donelle is survived by her husband of  45 years Scott Hagan of Bassett; three sons, Justin (Leah) Hagan of Bassett, NE, Jeremy (Jenny) Hagan of Hickman, NE, Mitch (Tauna) of Stapelton, NE; daughter, Sarah (Randy) Schlecht of Clearwater, NE; ten grandchildren, Mason, Collin, Aiden, Easton, Madison, Holton, Paige and husband Charlie, Peyton, Praylee, Lexi; brother, Bill (Denise) Hartigan of Orchard, NE; mother and father in-law, Arlan and Shirley Hagan of Ravenna, NE; brothers-in-law, Steve (Judy) Hagan of Atkinson, NE, Rick Hagan of Ravenna, NE; sisters-in-law, Nancy Hagan of Ravenna, NE, Judy (Steve) Swim of Monument, CO, Brenda (Dave) Kaup of Stuart, NE; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents; son Jason; grandparents, Mary and Bill Hartigan, Herbert and Vivian Steinberg; and daughter-in-law, Shaylynn Hagan.
