Ella was born on July 11, 1918, in Berlin, Germany, to Herman and Alma (Hohndorf) Eisert. Ella and her family immigrated to the United States through Ellis Island in 1923 and the eventually settled in Opportunity, NE, near other family members. She attended grade school at the Oberle School and District 127. She graduated from O'Neill High School in 1937 with an extra year of Normal Training and received her Teaching Certificate. Ella taught school in Holt and Knox Counties for 7 years. She also worked for Collins Radio in Cedar Rapids, IA.
Ella met Boyd Boelter at a dance. They dated for several years. Their love of dancing brought them many hours of enjoyment. Boyd served four years in the Pacific Theater during World War II. On May 3, 1945, she was united in marriage to T5 Boyd Boelter at Christ Lutheran Church in O'Neill, NE. After Boyd was discharged from the Army, the couple made their home on a farm in the Middle Branch area, later moving northeast of O'Neill, where they farmed and ran a dairy for 12 years. During this time, they were blessed with four children. In 1958, Ella and Boyd's love expanded to care for Sheryl, Jerri, Warren and Marvin Eisert who came to live with them for 3 years, following the death of Ella's brother in a car accident. In 1962, they bought a farm near Inman, where they continued to run a dairy farm. Boyd passed away in 2003 after 58 years of marriage.
Ella was well known for her great storytelling. She also was very patriotic, and she loved her flowers and garden.
Ella was a member of Christ Lutheran Church for 75 years, a 4-H leader for 20 years, a member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary, the Holt County Election Commission, and Christ Lutheran Ladies Aide. Ella was also a member of the Inman Worker's Club for many years.
Ella had a strong Christian faith, and spent many hours in prayer for the health and well-being of family and others. She cherished her family. Even in her final hours, it was very important to her to express her love to each and every family member with her smiles, humor, and undivided attention as each one expressed their love to her. She will be missed by all who loved and knew her.
