Visitation for Erna Liermann, age 96 of Amelia, NE, will be 5-7 pm Friday, June 23, 2023 at Biglin's Mortuary in O'Neill, NE. A Private Burial will be at the Chambers Cemetery in Chambers, NE. Erna passed away on Wednesday, June 21, 2023 at Good Samaritan Society in Atkinson. Arrangements are entrusted to Biglin's Mortuary of O'Neill.

Erna E. Penner was born June 14, 1927 in Henderson, NE to Jacob and Helena (Epp) Penner. She graduated from high school at Luton, IA, and later Sioux City, IA school of business.

On September 23, 1955, Erna was united in marriage to Gene W. Liermann.

Erna is survived by two daughters, Shari (Darrell) Buoy of Burwell, NE, and Jeannette (Robert) Kloppenborg of Marysville, KS; one son, Charles Liermann of Amelia; five grandchildren, Barbara (Mike) Trollope of Albion, NE, Brenda (Everett) Brott of Burwell, NE, Jason (Ember) Buoy of Loup City, NE, Sara (Zach) Kress of Beatrice, NE, Chris (Diane) Kloppenborg of Beatrice, NE; 15 great grandchildren; five great great grandchildren; and sister-in-law and brothers-in-law, Mershon (Lonny) Franssen of Amelia, NE and Wayne Lakin of Burwell, NE.

Erna was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Gene Liermann; 4 brothers; and 5 sisters.
