James Wallace Richards was born August 10, 1935 in Denver, CO to Wallace and Dorothy (Hayes) Richards. He attended high school in Littleton, served a stint in the Army, and eventually returned to Denver where he began a long trucking career with Yellow Freight. The job took him to Vancouver, WA and he retired there in 1993. At that point he made Page, NE his new home as the perfect central location from which to navigate all points in the country.
Jim spent the rest of his life traveling to every state, collecting business cards, fishing in Alaska, making strangers into friends, visiting his children, and much more.
Jim is survived by his brother Jerry, six children – Donnie (Tammie) Jamison, Susan Richards, Tammie Yengo, Julie Lavely, Kimberly Richards, and Judy (Ross) Clark – as well as eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife Eleanor, brother Bill, son Charly and grandson Timmy.
In recent years Jim often said he'd done everything he wanted to and that he had a good life. This brings immeasurable peace to his family as he continues his journey.
