Memorial Services for Janice Bennett, age 83, of Lynch will be at 10:30 am on Thursday, June 25, 2026 at the Lynch Community Hall in Lynch, Nebraska.  Burial will follow in the Alford Cemetery, south of Monowi, Nebraska.  Memorial Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the Hall.  Janice passed away on Sunday, June 7, 2026 at Accura Healthcare Nursing Home in O'Neill.  Memorials may be directed to her family for future designation.  Arrangements are entrusted to Biglin's Mortuary in Spencer.

Janice Marie Mulhair was born on January 15, 1943 in Lynch, Nebraska to Ray and Mable (Stewart) Mulhair.  Janice grew up east of Lynch and attended Lynch Public Schools through the eighth grade.  She went to work for Moody's Café and worked various jobs around Lynch; it was believed that there wasn't a house or business in Lynch that she didn't clean at least once.

She met Clayton Bennett on a trip to South Dakota.  They later married in June of 1962 in Lynch, Nebraska.  To this union three children were born; Donald, Brenda, and Dean.

Janice was a member of the Auxiliary and the VFW in Lynch.  She was also a member of the Lynch Wesleyan Church, the Election Board, and a member of the Card Club.

Janice enjoyed playing cards and word search puzzles.  She also enjoyed gardening, watching crime shows, and traveling to the Black Hills.  Janice also enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Janice is survived by her daughter, Brenda Engel of O'Neill, NE; six grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Clayton in 1997; two sons, Dean and Donald; granddaughter, Dena Engel.
