Heiss
May 26, 1931 — Aug 9, 2026
Stuart
A Visitation for Jeannine Heiss, age 95, of Page will be from 4:30 pm until 7 pm on Friday, August 14, 2026 at Biglin's Mortuary in O'Neill. A Private Graveside Service will follow at the Page Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date at the Page United Methodist Church. Jeannine passed away on Sunday, August 09, 2026 at Avera St. Anthony's Hospital in O'Neill. Memorials may be directed to her family for future designation. Arrangements are entrusted to Biglin's Mortuary in O'Neill.
Jeannine Arlyn Waring was born May 26, 1931, at Middle Branch, Nebraska, to Kenneth and Pauline (Finch) Waring. She grew up with her brother Maurice on the family farm in the Middle Branch community. She attended high school at Page, Nebraska, graduating in 1948. She then attended Wayne State Teacher's College one year.
On August 9, 1949, she was united in marriage to Kenneth Heiss at the Page Methodist Church. They moved to the family farm northeast of Page a year later. To this union were born seven children. She spent her next years busy raising kids, planting gardens, raising chickens, attending ball games and concerts, and settling fights.
In 1984, Kenny and Jeannine "moved to town" to their home in Page, turning the family farm over to the next generation. Their retirement years were spent following more school activities, wintering in Texas and Florida, camping, and fishing on the Missouri River.
Kenny passed away in 2003. Jeannine continued following activities of the now 24 grandchildren and the new great grandchildren. She loved baseball and was an avid fan of the Huskers and Kansas City Royals. She was a faithful listener to sports broadcasts of high school and college games on KBRX.
Jeannine was a member of the Eastside Country Club, Joy Circle, and the Page United Methodist Church. She also volunteered at O'Neill St. Anthony's Hospital for many years.
A mild stroke in 2021 took her ability to speak. In 2021 she had a short stay at Alpine Village in Verdigre, then moved to the Evergreen in O'Neill where she remained until October 2025 when she moved to Parkside Manor in Stuart. Wherever she called home, she was loved by her caretakers and family for her sweet disposition and her determination to adapt to any situation, and how she tolerated being nonverbal.
