Funeral Services for Jo Ann Howard, age 69 of O'Neill, will be 10:00 am Tuesday, July 18, 2023 at the First Christian Church in O'Neill. The service will be live-streamed on the First Christian Church Facebook page. Burial will follow in the O'Neill Cemetery. Visitation will be at Biglin's Mortuary from 5-7 Monday, July 17, 2023, with a 7 pm Prayer Service. Jo Ann passed away on Thursday, July 13, 2023 at Avera St. Anthony's Hospital in O'Neill. Memorials may be made to the family for future designation. Arrangements are entrusted to Biglin's Mortuary of O'Neill.

Jo Ann was born on July 30, 1953 to Ernest and Sadie (Smith) Larsen in Lynch, NE. She grew up on the family farm Southwest of Butte along the Niobrara River. She attended Butte High School and graduated in 1971.

She married Norman Ray Howard in Butte, NE on June 8, 1974 and the couple welcomed three children: Steven, Daniel, and Brandi.

Jo Ann worked for several years at Gaskill Insurance, kept all the books for Howard Trucking, and managed the Legion Club for several years. She was the bookkeeper for Super Foods until she was forced to retire due to health reasons.

She was a member of the First Christian Church, a former member of the American Legion Auxiliary and Cub Scout leader. Her hobbies included sewing, quilting, baking, and cooking. Jo Ann and Norman were avid coffee drinkers. They would often be found drinking coffee with their friends at Seger's or Westside. She enjoyed traveling with Norman in his truck and watching him and the boys compete in Tractor pulls. She was a huge supporter of her grandchildren's activities and relished time together around the holidays.

Jo Ann is survived by her children and spouses, Steven (Regina) Howard, Daniel (Amy) Howard, Brandi (Gage) Bowder all of O'Neill; 11 grandchildren, Paige, Zachary, Kelsey, Kylee, Nolan, Devane, Carlyle, Emma, Dane, Sadie, and Ellie; Brother, Lindley (Barb) Larsen of Creighton, NE; and several nieces, nephews, relatives, and close friends.

Jo Ann is preceded by her parents; husband, Norman in 2017; and sister, Mary Helen Klinetobe.
