The family of Joseph (Joe) Gray, (son of Peg and Tim Gray) 40, of Gilbert, AZ, invite friends and family to join them in a Celebration of Life that will be held from 4:00-7:00 p.m., Saturday, November 27, 2021 at the O'Neill Evergreen Independent Living Social Hall. Burial will be for family only, prior to the Celebration of Life. Joe passed away on Sunday, August 8, 2021. The family requests that memorials be made to the family for a later designation.

Joseph (Joe) Wade Gray was born May 5, 1981 in O'Neill, Nebraska. He graduated from O'Neill St. Mary's in 2000.

Joe spent his junior year of high school as a foreign exchange student in São Paulo, Brazil. He attended The University of Nebraska at Lincoln majoring in Public Administration and began working for the American Red Cross as Head of Disaster Relief. He loved to travel and had lived/worked in places such as Las Vegas, NV, Chicago, IL (where he attained his Doctorate), Scottsdale, AZ, and finally Gilbert, AZ. He continued working for the American Red Cross and taught classes at the University of Arizona at Phoenix.

Joe is survived by his parents, Peg and Tim Gray; sisters Rebecca (Kris) Wohlert and Rachael Gray; and three nieces, Delaney, Aubrey, and Emersyn Wohlert.

Joe is preceded in death by his grandparents George and Dorothy Hammond and Duane and Dorothy Gray. We will truly miss everything about him especially his witty sense of humor, his love toward animals, and his incredibly kind heart.
