Graveside committal for John Harrington Jr., age 91, of Omaha, formerly of O'Neill, 1:30 pm will be June 25, 2021 at the O'Neill Cemetery. John passed away on Monday, December 14, 2020 in Omaha. A Funeral Mass was previously held on Friday, December 18th at St. Robert Bellarmine Church in Omaha. Biglin's Mortuary in O'Neill is in charge of local arrangements.

John was an avid Nebraska Huskers fan, and followed college sports teams including football, baseball and volleyball. He had a keen mind for history and trivia and was always a wealth of information, retaining his mental sharpness to the end. In his life, he was most proud of his final position with the City of Omaha, Comprehensive Employment & Training Agency, working as a counselor with the refugee population. He graduated from DePaul High School in Chicago, IL, and then from University of Miami, FL, in 1952. While living in O'Neill, John was Secretary of the O'Neill Chamber of Commerce and also member of Radio Station KVHC.

John is survived in death by sister, Marlene A. Krof; nephew Kevin Fraber; niece Denise Schejbal; stepson' Jim (& Julie) Thrasher; stepdaughter Nancy (& Floyd) Barnes, daughters, Margaret Jean Henry and Marianne Wright, 9 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John J & Berniece L. Harrington; his wife, M Jane Harrington; sister, Mary Maxine Fraber; and brother, James D Harrington.
