John was a generous and loving Husband, Father, Brother, and Son. John was a lifelong hunting and fishing enthusiast, an outdoorsman and an expert craftsman. His various jobs led him on travels near and far, but he always returned to revel at the prairies, hills, bluffs and lakes of his home, Nebraska. He had a meticulous ability to engineer and create solutions through design and logistics that lives on with his daughter.

After his time in the military, he transferred his unmitigated work ethic into a decade long stint as a conductor for the Burlington Northern Sante Fe railroad. His hardworking tendency to complete any task he undertook was admired by all who served alongside him.

His irreplaceable, warm laugh and chipper sense of humor will be severely missed by his family, friends, coworkers and acquaintances. He used his many skills and trades to improve any community he found himself residing in.
