George passed away Wednesday, February 14, 2018, at the O'Neill Care and Rehabilitation Center.  Arrangements are under the direction of Biglin's Mortuary in O'Neill, NE.

George was born on March 1 st , 1943 in Scottsbluff, Ne to George Sr and Esther (Meier) Rein.  His younger years were spent playing sports and working on the family farm. George received his degree in Business Administration from Chadron State College in 1966. Soon after finishing college, he married Kerri Irish on August 20, 1967.  This union was blessed with three children, Robert (Robbie), Kasey and Stephanie.

Together with his brothers, George operated Rein Brothers Equipment, the John Deere dealership in Chadron, Nebraska for many years.  He later chose to branch out on his own and moved his family to Idaho.  In Idaho, George "switched colors" and managed an International Dealership.  The family moved back to Nebraska in 1990.

George had a passion for Husker football.  Many great memories were made with his wife and good friends cheering on their favorite team both at home in Memorial Stadium and traveling to away games.  His love of sports extended to supporting his own grandkids at their various sporting events.  George also cherished peaceful moments out on the fishing pond with his grandson.  George enjoyed vacationing with his wife and children.  There were water skiing trips to Lake Angustora, skiing trips to Terri Peak, and numerous trips with friends all over the United States.  George and Kerri spoke often about the cherished memories they made on a trip they took together to visit wine country.

George was known by all to have a robust sense of humor.  He enjoyed golfing with friends, and never passed up the opportunity to tell a joke or funny story on the course.  George really loved keeping people on their toes.  His ability to bring humor into any situation will forever be the source of stories and anecdotes for all who knew George.

He is survived by his children:  Kasey Baker and husband Scott, of Inman, NE, Stephanie Davis and husband Tony of Omaha, NE, Kim Winters of Owasso, OK, Grandchildren:  Madison Davis, Brady Davis, Rylan Baker, Alexa Winters and Bo Winters, brothers; Gary Rein and wife Anita of Chadron, NE, Bob Rein of Scottsbluff, NE, sister, Kathy Anthony and husband Bubby of Gering, NE, and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Kerri Jayne Rein, and son, Robert Dean Rein, parents, John George Rein Sr and Esther (Meier) Rein.
