Memorial Services for Larry L. Pendergast, age 78 of Inman, NE, will be 1:00 pm Saturday, August 27, 2022 at Zion Lutheran Church in Plainview, NE. There will be a private graveside gathering for immediate family after the service. The family will be hosting a Celebration of Life for Larry following the graveside gathering back at the Church Fellowship Hall. Larry passed away on Saturday, August 6, 2022 at Faith Regional Health Services in Norfolk after a brief illness (Pulmonary Fibrosis). He was blessed to spend the last days of his life surrounded by loved ones and sharing stories with them that they will cherish forever. Memorials are suggested to the family for future designation. Arrangements are entrusted to Biglin's Mortuary of O'Neill.

He was born on November 18, 1943 in Plainview, NE to Robert A. and Naomi (Krause) Pendergast. Larry grew up in Plainview with his parents and brother Lyle. At age 16, Larry moved to Lincoln, NE where he got his first job as a Carpenter/Mason. A few years later he moved back to his hometown to work with his dad and uncle in the cement business. Larry was a self-employed Carpenter/Mason his entire life (even in Retirement). Larry and his family lived in Longmont, CO for a few years but spent most of his life in and around the Plainview area. Later in life Larry moved with his wife Shirley to an acreage in Inman, NE.

Larry's hobbies included fishing in Nebraska as well as South Dakota and taking yearly fishing trips to Canada. Most of all he enjoyed having coffee with his friends every morning, and playing cards with his family whenever he got the chance. To know Larry was to love him. He was a small man with a huge heart and would lend a helping hand to anyone. He loved his family and cherished every moment he spent with them near and far.

Larry is survived by his wife Shirley of 41 years, 5 children: Bobbie (Rob) Borchers, Sheila (Jeff) Herfel, Lisa (Chris) Elsten, Mike (Molly) Pendergast, Jolene (Tyler) Sanne, & brother Lyle (Peggy) Pendergast. 14 Grandchildren: Brittany (Michael) Yardley, Brandon & Alex Borchers, Ashley (Noah) Jensen, Justin, Jamie, & Kayla Herfel, Tyler (Liz) Elsten, Michael (Ashley) Elsten, Andrew & Matthew Elsten, Kaleb & Kamden Pendergast, Hannah Sanne, 7 great grandchildren. Also, several nieces, nephews, & cousins.

Larry is preceded in death by his parents Robert A. & Naomi Pendergast, several uncles, aunts, & many other family members throughout the years.
