Funeral Services for Lois Sanderson, age 85, of Chambers, NE will be 10:00 am Saturday, November 13, 2021 at the United Methodist Church in Chambers with Pastor Brian Loy officiating. Burial will follow in the Chambers Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-7 pm Friday, November 12, 2021 at Biglin's Mortuary in O'Neill with a Prayer Service at 7 pm. Lois passed away on Sunday, November 7, 2021 at Avera St. Anthony's Hospital in O'Neill. Memorials may be directed to the family for future designation. Arrangements are entrusted to Biglin's Mortuary of O'Neill.

Lois Darlene Mikkelsen was born near Chambers, NE on August 25, 1936 to Neil and Ida (Gemelke) Mikkelsen. She grew up north east of Chambers and graduated from Chambers High School.

Lois married Rovert R. Sanderson, Sr. on August 15, 1954 in Pilger, NE. Together, they had three children, Sheila, Rovert, Jr., and Alan. They lived in Garfield County and Pilger, NE before moving back to the Chambers Community in 1963. Lois loved being outside and enjoyed helping Rovert with the chores at the ranch, she was truly his right-hand woman.

She was best known for making doll clothes and pot holders, but her favorite thing to do was spending time with family and friends. Lois rarely met a stranger and would open her house to anyone. She will be missed by all that knew and loved her.

Lois was a member of the United Methodist Church in Chambers and the Chambers American Legion Auxiliary Post #320.

Lois is survived by her children, Sheila (William) Hamik of O'Neill, NE, Rovert, Jr. (Susan) of Emerson, NE, and Alan Sanderson of O'Neill, NE; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; one sister, Joyce McNair of Chambers, NE; one brother, Don Mikkelsen of Chambers, NE; and sister-in-law, Minerva Blair if Urbandale, IA.

Lois is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Rovert, Sr.; and daughter-in-law, Bonnie Krugman-Sanderson.
