Memorial Services for Lowell Jensen, age 81 of O'Neill will be 10:30 am Friday, June 22, 2018 at Christ Lutheran Church in O'Neill with Pastor John Ryding officiating. Military Rites will be provided by the O'Neill American Legion Simonson Post 93. Memorial Visitation will be from 5-7 pm Thursday, June 21, 2018 at Biglin's Mortuary in O'Neill with a 7 pm prayer service.  Lowell passed away Monday, June 18 at the O'Neill Care and Rehab Center.  Memorials may be directed to the family for future designation.  Biglin's Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Lowell Christian Jensen was born on September 23, 1936 in Lindsay, Nebraska to Edger and Verna (Hansen) Jensen.  During high school, he moved with his family to Ewing, where his parents ran the Ewing Sale Barn.  Lowell graduated from Ewing High School in 1954.  Almost immediately after graduating, Lowell enlisted in the U.S. Army.  He served for a time in Korea and was later Honorably Discharged in June of 1957.

Lowell married his high school sweetheart, Patty Mosel on July 21, 1957 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Orchard, Nebraska.  The couple made their home in Neligh where their four children Kim, Pat, Joel, and Jacque were all born.  Lowell and Patty owned and operated the Neligh Livestock Market for six years, then they started the L Bar B Steakhouse in Clearwater, Nebraska with partner Bill Gibbs.  They owned and operated Jensen Western Wear in O'Neill and Neligh, NE for 10 years, and the Elkhorn Motel in O'Neill for 28 years. Lowell also worked for Beba Construction and drove truck for Gerald Wettlaufer.

Upon retirement, the couple moved to Burwell and worked part time for Calamus State Park until Patty's health began to fail.  They returned to O'Neill in the fall of 2012 where Lowell courageously cared for Patty during her eight -month illness with cancer

Lowell loved to spend time with his family and many friends.  He particularly liked to fish, go dancing, rummage sales, and bird watching.   He was a faithful member of Christ Lutheran Church, O'Neill Chamber of Commerce, the American Legion and the O'Neill J.C.'s.

Lowell is survived by his four children, Kim (Marty) Drueke of O'Neill, Pat (Elaine) Jensen of Culver, Indiana, Joel (April) Jensen of Independence, Missouri, Jacque (Leon) Meyers of O'Neill; six grandchildren, Bobbi Jo (Michael) Hilt, Matt (Terra) Drueke, Haley Jensen, Jason (April Barlow) Meyers, Brad (Jessica) Meyers, Luke Meyers; eleven great grandchildren, Jude Hilt, George Hilt, Jhett Hilt, Laney Drueke, Landry Drueke, Ozzy Drueke, Derek Meyers, Tae Meyers, Raegyn Meyers, Parker Meyers, Emerson Meyers; one brother, Neil (Janice) Jensen of Columbus; one sister-in-law, Delores Jensen of Blackhawk, South Dakota; many nieces and nephews.

Lowell was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Patrice Jensen in 2013; two brothers, Don Jensen and Duane (Phyllis) Jensen.
