Funeral Services for Lyle Holm, age 87, of Butte, Nebraska will be at 2:00pm on Friday, September 18, 2026 at the Butte Community Bible Church in Butte with Pastor Gary Binder officiating.  Burial will follow in the Butte Cemetery with Military Honors provided by the Butte American Legion Post #51.  Visitation will be from 5-7 pm on Thursday, September 17, 2026 at Biglin's Mortuary in Spencer.  Lyle passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, September 8, 2026 at his home in Butte.  Memorials may be directed to his family for future designation.  Arrangements are entrusted to Biglin's Mortuary in Spencer.

Lyle Francis Holm was born on May 10, 1939 in Pomona, California to Dale and Lucretia (George) Holm.  He attended Covina High School where he loved playing football and baseball.  Lyle graduated with the class of 1957.  He attended Mount San Antonio College in Walnut, California where he played college football.

Lyle later enlisted into the United States Marine Corps on November 20, 1960 and was Honorably Discharged on August 24, 1961.  He married Sharon Butler in Pomona, CA on February 21, 1964.  To this union three children were born, Kimberly, Gina, and Eric.  They lived in Pomona before moving to Glendora.  They later divorced.  On January 1, 1997 he married Denise Sedlacek in Las Vegas, Nevada.  Lyle worked in the Alpha Beta Grocery Warehouse which is now a Krogers.  He then worked for Teamsters Local #63 where he worked for 37 years.  In 2003, they moved to Butte, Nebraska and he worked at National Farms and retired in the early 2010's.  Lyle loved to stay at home and take care of his yard.  He also loved traveling to Yosemite and has climbed Half Dome more than 15 times.  He was always very health conscious and was a very quiet man.

He loved sports, going for many hikes, running, and lifting weights.  He also enjoyed gardening and reading his bible.

Lyle is survived by his wife, Denise Holm of Butte, NE; children, Kim Holm, of Onterio, CA, Gina (Ryder) Steimle of San Clemente, CA and Eric (Marianne) Holm of Temecula, CA; step children, Danielle (Jay-Are) Garcia of Omaha, NE, Sirus Price of O'Neill, NE, Caleb (Sierra) Price of South Hill, WA; 14 grandchildren; six great grandchildren; brother, Darrol (Judy) Holm of Covina, CA and their daughter, Trisha (Shawn) McIlwaine of Covina, CA; many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Dale Holm.
