Private Graveside Services for Margaret Mary Crumly, age 99, of Omaha, formerly of Page will be held.  Rev. Brian Loy will officiate.  Margaret passed away Tuesday, April 21, 2020 at the Sunridge Village Retirement in Omaha, Nebraska.  Memorials can be made to the United Methodist Women in care of the United Methodist Church in O'Neill.  Biglin's Mortuary of O'Neill is in charge of arrangements.

Margaret was born December 19, 1920 to Edgar and Mary (Plagge) Hartman.  In addition to helping raise her siblings, Margaret graduated 8th grade and went to Normal School to be a teacher.  She shared many stories of teaching in a one room school house and the challenges she faced when the farm boys would join the classroom dynamic.  She met her husband Alfred "A.T." Crumly at a Lawerence Welk dance in Winnetoon, Nebraska.

A.T. and Margaret were married April 23, 1940 and resided on a farm outside of Page, Nebraska where they raised their three children Janice, Donna, and Alvin.  Margaret was highly involved with her church and multiple committees for the United Methodist Women's group.  After the children graduated high school, Margaret worked for Holt County Extension and was President and Secretary of the Holt County Extension Board.  Once they became grandparents, Margaret and A.T. would have grandchildren on the farm for weeks at a time and would travel for all events; ball games, races and dance recitals.

Margaret never stopped working/learning and even into her early 90's she continued sewing projects for different charities, and always had a good book on her coffee table.  She was famous for her amazing pies and baking and family looked forward to her cookie care packages during the holidays.

Margaret is survived by her daughter, Janice Champion of Norfolk, NE; grandchildren, Glenda Homann, Cheri Forney, Greg Nissen and fiancé Ginger Chandler, Troy (Jeanne) Nissen, Alysha (Dan) Jackson, Alyssa (Paul) Georgie; great-grandchildren, Jessica, Sarah, Christopher, Thomas, Bennett, Paige, Ella, Norah, Keller; great-great grandchildren, Naven, Noah, Destiny, Arase, Zander, Abagail, Adora; sister, Bess Waterman of Creighton, NE; and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Edgar and Mary (Plagge) Hartman; husband, Alfred "A.T." Crumly; daughter, Donna Nissen; son, Alvin Crumly; siblings, Ruby Bond, Trula McEntire, James Hartman, Bill Hartman, and Jack Hartman.
