Funeral Services for Marilyn Dix, age 82 of Butte, NE will be 10:30 AM Saturday, December 2, 2023 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Butte, NE. Rev. Leif Hasskarl will officiate. Burial will follow in the Butte Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7 PM Friday, December 1, 2023 at Biglins Mortuary in Spencer, NE. Memorials may be sent to the Immanuel Lutheran Church. Marilyn passed away on Wednesday, November 1, 2023 at the Butte Senior Living Center. Arrangements are under the direction of Biglins Mortuary in Spencer, NE.

Marilyn was born on February 7, 1941 in Lynch, Nebraska. She was baptized into her Christian faith at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Butte, Nebraska. She graduated from Butte High School. She married Douglas Dix on April 13, 1959. Doug was drafted into the army and they traveled to Missouri and Texas before he was stationed at Ft. Eustis, Va. She gave birth to Steve (5/11/1960), Gwen (6/21/1962) and Jeff (9/26/1965). They moved to Bloomington, MN in 1964. Marilyn worked as a legal secretary for Phillips, Gross and Aaron from the late 60's until the 80's when she transitioned to working temporary assignments as a legal secretary. Marilyn loved her family and shared many great vacations and experiences with them. She was afraid of the water but overcame it to become a boating enthusiast and a certified scuba diver. She loved to sew, go boating, deer hunt, take photos and her garden full of hibiscus which lined the street at her home.

Marilyn is survived by her husband of 64 years, Douglas Dix of Butte, NE; children and spouses, Steve (Debra) Dix of Savage, MN, Gwen (Michael) Dennie of Apple Valley, MN and Jeff (Noreen) Dix of Savage, MN; 5 grandchildren, Brett (Ashley) Shelanski, Andrew (Aubrey) Busch, Jacob Dennie, Samantha Dix and Nicole (Jacob) Notermann; 5 great grandchildren, Harper, Riley, Hawkin, William and Jackson; sister in law, Bev Fancher of Long Beach, CA; 3 brothers in law, Ray Martin of Bloomington, MN, Clark (Sue) Dix of Omaha, NE and Jerry (Karen) Dix of Bellevue, NE; numerous nieces, nephews relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Claude and Lorena (Watson) Collins; siblings, Earl (Vi) Collins, Marie (Roy) Droege, Warren (Mavis) Collins, Elmer (Arlene) Collins, Joyce (Robbie) Robinson, Maxine (Kenny) Caldwell and Carol Martin.
