Marlene Sue Fox was born November 29, 1960 during a blizzard in Lynch, NE. She was the oldest child of Harold and Arlene (Hood) Fox and big sister to Cheryl. She attended country school for one- year, Special Ed in Spencer for one year, and then transferred to Region 4, which eventually became NorthStar Services. Marlene led a very productive life working for many people through the years cleaning houses and vacuuming. Marlene dealt with various health issues all of her life.
Even though Marlene was quiet, she loved to be around people and wanted to be on the go. She was always sad when a fun event ended and wanted to know what was next. Some of her favorite events were going to rodeos, carnivals and the circus. Her favorite rides were the Spin Out, Tilt-A-Whirl, and the Ferris Wheel. She had an incredible memory of these fun events and could tell you the month, day, year and day of the week it happened! She spent hours putting difficult puzzles together, latch hook, and simple needle point. She was very "patterned". She liked to do certain chores on certain days; on a trip, she would take a drink of water at each town she traveled through. Marlene loved to read and would walk to the library to get books. She enjoyed listening to gospel albums on Vinyl Records. She had a love of Jesus and enjoyed attending church.
Marlene will be remembered for her quiet sweet way about her. Her final gift in life was being an organ donor, Thanks to her donation, two lives were saved.
Marlene is survived by her mother; Arlene Fox of O'Neill, NE; sister, Cheryl (Jim) Welsh of O'Neill, NE; nephews, Nate and Jet Welsh; niece, Charlotte Welsh; aunts, Irene McHale of O'Neill, NE and Cleora Ruff of Butte, NE; uncles, Jim Fox of York, NE and Charles Fox of Mesa, Arizona, many cousins and friends.
She is preceded in death by her father; Harold in 1995, and her grandparents.
