Norman Lubken, age 85, of Chambers passed away on Saturday, September 1, 2018 at his home in rural Chambers.

A private family graveside service in the Chambers Cemetery will be at a later date.

Memorials may be directed to the family for future designation.  Biglin's Mortuary in O'Neill is in charge of arrangements.

Norman Lubken was born on November 12, 1932 on a farm north of Neligh, Nebraska to Arthur and Frances Kathern (Vogt) Lubken.  He graduated from Neligh High School in 1950.  Norman was drafted into the U.S. Army and served in the Army Medical Corp in Korea from 1953-1955.  After being Honorably discharged, he attended the University of Nebraska and graduated in 1959.

Norman married Cleone (Rusty) Mardell Beed on August 19, 1956 at the United Methodist Church in Chambers, Nebraska.  To this union, five sons were born.

Norman worked for 25 years as Vise President and Auditor for a Los Angeles Bank Holding Company with banks in eleven western states.  His job required lots of travel.  Norman was also very active in the Lion's Club.  He retired in 1995, and they moved to Chambers.

Norman was an outdoors man, he enjoyed hunting fishing, camping, and hiking.

Norman is survived by his wife of 62 years, Cleone Lubken of Chambers; his four sons, Michael (Stephanie McMillon) Lubken of Denver, Colorado, Kenneth Lubken of Amelia, Douglas Lubken of Thorton, Colorado, and Jeffrey Lubken of Chambers; six grandchildren; and three great grandsons; one half-brother; and two half-sisters, many nieces and nephews.

Norman was preceded in death by his parents; son, Timothy Lubken; granddaughter, Jessica Lubken, one brother, Dwight (Theba) Lubken.
