A Funeral Mass for Patricia M. Donohoe, age 101, of O'Neill, will be at 10:30 A.M., Friday, September 15, 2017, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in O'Neill, with burial in the O'Neill Cemetery.

Visitation will be Thursday, September 14, 2017, from 5-8 P.M., with a 5:00 P.M. Catholic Daughter Rosary, and a 7:00 P.M. Parish Rosary at Biglin's Mortuary in O'Neill.

Patricia passed away Sunday, September 10, 2017, at Avera St. Anthony's in O'Neill, NE.

Memorials may be made to the family for future designation.

Biglin's Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Patricia Marie Sullivan was born on March 17, 1916 on a farm, 7 1/2 miles northeast of O'Neill, to Michael and Ellen Sullivan. She attended country school and then went to St. Mary's for high school. She graduated at age 16, taught for several years, and was back in the country schools teaching in the years following the great depression.

Patricia married a fellow O'Neillian-Walter Donohoe-September 16, 1944. Aside from a few years they spent in Little Rock, Arkansas, where he was stationed during part of World War II, Patricia and Walter spent their lives in their native O Neill.  They raised five children.

Patricia returned to the classroom, teaching in various rural schools in Holt County until her retirement in 1979. She worked for the O'Neill Public Library until 1986 and then volunteered with Meals on Wheels and Avera St. Anthony's Hospital.

She was a member of the Catholic daughters, the Altar Society, and the Associates of the Sisters of St. Francis.

Patricia enjoyed good health until the end of her life. When faced with adversity, she met challenges head-on. She was an inspiration not only to her family but also to everyone who met her.

Patricia is survived by her four children, Marilyn Hinkle and husband Jerry, of Omaha, NE, Rita Diedrich and Tim Hurlbert of Hermosa, SD, Carol Reida and husband William of Omaha, NE, Don Donohoe of O'Neill, NE; one daughter-in-law, Debbie Donohoe of Omaha, NE; eight grandchildren, Cory Diedrich, Kristin Hermann and husband Marty, Theresa Johnson and husband Jared, Valerie Denton and husband Jason, Chad Reighard and wife Danielle, Molly Thomas and husband Ian, Mike Frease and wife Ryanne, Marc Frease; 11 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; many nieces and nephews.

Patricia was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Donohoe in 2000; one son, Robert "Feather" Donohoe in 2015; and three sisters.
