A Private Graveside Service for Patricia A. Jones, age 88, of O'Neill will take place at Highland Park Cemetery in Ravenna with Pastor Paul Harder officiating.  Patricia passed away on Thursday, April 16, 2020 at Arbor Care Center in O'Neill.  Memorials may be directed to the family for future designation. A Memorial Service will be held in O'Neill at a later date.  Biglin's Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Patricia Ann Whitcomb (Pat) was born August 25, 1931 in Ravenna, NE to Russell and Bessie (Sucky) Whitcomb.  She graduated from Ravenna High School.

On January 27, 1952 she married Fred Gene Jones at the First Congregational Church in Ravenna, NE.  To this union two children were born; Jodell Lynn Jones and Melissa Jean Jones.

Pat and Fred lived in St. Paul, NE for a short time before moving to O'Neill in 1955 to raise their family.  Pat attended beauty school and stayed busy fixing hair for all her family and friends.  She also did bookwork for various companies on the side.  Fred worked for Northwestern Bell and did some farming and ranching.  After Pat retired, she continued to stay busy helping with ranch work, tending her garden, and canning and freezing her crop.  Pat enjoyed being a housewife and was a wonderful mother to her daughters.

Pat was a strong woman and overcame many surgeries during her lifetime.  First Jody's surgery in 1954 and her own in 1971 in Rochester, MN; and most recently in Omaha in 2019.  Her strong will and perseverance pushed her through her therapy and recovery.

Pat had a strong faith in the Lord and was always willing to share her faith and prayers with people who were hurting, dealing with loss, and anyone who needed help.  She was a committed member of First United Methodist and Faith Community Church in O'Neill.

Pat is survived by her youngest daughter, Melissa Jean Jones of O'Neill; brother, Richard Whitcomb of Arvada Colorado; nephew, Russell Whitcomb and wife Shirley and sons Aaron and Richard Gene; various brothers-in law and sisters-in-law and cousins including; the Reynolds, Welshes, and Osbornes; many nieces and nephews including; Wade and Shelly Jones and family, Rev. Jeff and Staci (Jones) and Matthew Mann, the Bob and Charlene Franklin family, the Reed family, the Raymond Jones Family, and Montie Lou Smith; special extended family, the Paul Harder family; and many other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Fred Jones on August 1,1992; and oldest daughter, Jodell Lynn Jones (Jody) on April 19, 2014.
