A Celebration of Life for Patty Matthews, age 67, of O'Neill will be from 5-6 pm on Friday, March 28, 2025 at Biglin's Mortuary in O'Neill.  Burial will be in the O'Neill Cemetery.  Patty passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, March 13, 2025 at her home in O'Neill.  Memorials may be directed to her family for future designation.  Arrangements are entrusted to Biglin's Mortuary in O'Neill.

Patricia Jane Petsche was born on May 28, 1957 to William and Kathryn (Judge) Petsche in O'Neill, Nebraska.  She grew up in O'Neill and attended St. Mary's High School, she loved playing volleyball in high school.  Patty graduated with the class of 1976.  After high school she attended the University of Nebraska graduating with a Special Education Degree.

After college she met David Matthews and the couple got married in 1981.  She worked as a Special Education Teacher in Seward, Nebraska and then moved out to Alliance before returning to O'Neill in 1987 where she worked as a substitute teacher.  Patty retired in the early 2000's.

Patty loved to read, watching musicals, watch Husker sports and was also known for her tremendous baking.

Patty is survived by her husband, David Matthews of O'Neill; her father, Bill Petsche of O'Neill; many cousins, and her dog, Mateo.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Kathryn Petsche in 1994; brother, Chuck Petsche in 1997.
