Peggy Marie Grass was born on January 9, 1946 to parents William and Ada Marie (Harris) O'Brien in Lincoln, Nebraska. She grew up in Page, Nebraska where she met and married Lynn Arthur Grass on December 13, 1964. It was on their farm that Peggy spent 61 years in the home that her and Lynn built together.
She spent her life building a beautiful life for her family by being a stay-at-home wife and mother, and later grandmother and great grandmother. You could always find her spending her days tending to household chores, in her magnificent flower gardens, cooking meals for her family and farmhands, making sure that everyone knew what their tasks for the day were, and helping around the farm where she was needed.
Peggy also kept herself busy by donating her time and efforts to the American Red Cross for over 18 years, where she was named by the State of Nebraska Volunteer of the Year in 2001. She sat on the Board at Avera Hospital and was also the Bowling Chairman for the league she loved so much, and was a Mary Kay saleswoman/consultant.
Peggy loved to travel when she got the chance, taking many special trips in her life. She never forgot anyone for any special occasion that they had and would make sure she sent the perfect card. She loved to spread joy into other people's lives and her laugh was contagious.
Peggy is survived by her husband of 61 years, Lynn Grass of Page, NE; her children, Teresa Grass (special friend Lenny) of Deadwood, SD, Daniel and Della (Dawson) Grass of Page, NE, James Grass of Olympia, WA; five grandchildren, Malarie, Matthew, Sheila, Marshall, Olivia; six great grandchildren; brother, Michael (Sheryle) O'Brien of South Sioux City, NE; sisters, Sharon (Troy) Saner of Wamsutter, WY, Sally (Ron) Bjork of Rawlins, WY, Sandra (Bob) Bilyeu of North Platte, NE; brother in-law, Darell (Helen) Grass of St. Paul, MN; sister in-law, Jolene Grass of Norfolk, NE; many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
