Richard Lehmann was born on May 30, 1922 in Chambers, Nebraska to William and Bertha (Milke) Lehmann.  He graduated from Chambers High School in 1940. He entered the U.S. Army and served for over a year in the Philippines.

After being Honorably Discharged on December 17, 1946, Dick returned to the family ranch south of Chambers.  He married JoEllyn Hoerle on April 7, 1947 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Chambers.  The couple made their home on Dick's family farm.

Dick loved to work on his ranch.  He enjoyed the changes that each new season brought to the ranch, from calving, to fencing, to haying, and finally harvest.  Dick retired in 2000.

Dick was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Chambers.  He enjoyed fishing, crossword puzzles, and playing cards with the neighbors.  Dick and JoEllyn always enjoyed their dogs, Jack and Poochie.

Richard is survived by many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, JoEllyn Lehmann in 2018; and three sisters, Esther Mosel, Mildred Wright, and Bernice Hayman.
