Funeral Services for Ruth Hinrichsen, age 87, of rural Ewing will be at 2 pm on Tuesday, March 12, 2024 at the Chambers Community Church of Christ in Chambers, Nebraska with burial to follow in the Chambers Cemetery. Rev. Mike Durre will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Ruth passed away on Wednesday, March 6, 2024 surrounded by family at Arbor Care Center in O'Neill. Memorials may be directed to her family for future designation. Arrangements are entrusted to Biglin's Mortuary in O'Neill.

Ruth Elaine Durre was born October 15, 1936 to Ernest and Esther (Green) Durre in rural Ewing, Nebraska by Goose Lake. She attended country school through the 8th grade, she then worked on her family farm and took care of her mom until she passed in 1983. Ruth married Arthur Hinrichsen on March 23, 1976 in Neligh, Nebraska to this union son Alan was born.

She enjoyed working on her ranch, haying, fencing, calving, and milking cows. Ruth also enjoyed quilting, crocheting, thrifting and had a big passion for collecting salt and pepper shakers, she was also an amazing cook. Ruth slowed down in 2006 due to health reasons.

Ruth is survived by her son, Alan Hinrichsen of Ewing, Nebraska; sister Gladys (Jim) Fink of Orchard; sisters-in-law, Ruth Durre of Hastings and Pauline Durre of Elgin; along with many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Arthur in 1995; siblings, Irene Whiting, Clara Larson, Henry Durre, Lloyd Durre, Helen Schwager, Ernest Durre, Donald Durre, David Durre.
