A Celebration of Life Service for Sharon K. (Courtney) Bruegman, age 79 of Bristow, Nebraska will be held at a later date.  Sharon passed away on Thursday, December 12, 2024 at the Butte Healthcare Center in Butte, Nebraska.  Memorials may be directed to the family for future designation.  Arrangements are under the direction of Biglin's Mortuary in Spencer, NE.

Sharon Kay (Courtney) Bruegman was born on September 3, 1945 in Lynch, Nebraska to Charles and Edna (Bryant) Courtney.  She grew up near Lynch, where she attended country school until it closed.  Sharon continued her schooling in Lynch and graduated from Lynch High School in 1964.  She then went on to attend Bahner Beauty School in Fremont, NE before working in her first Beauty Shop in Elkhorn, NE.

Sharon met her future husband Kenneth while working at Sandberg Beauty Shop in Spencer, NE.  They were married on July 6, 1968 in Lynch, NE.  When Kenneth got out of the Navy the couple moved to a farm southeast of Bristow, NE where two children were born Sharla and Perry.

After a couple years on the farm, they decided to move into Bristow and when the kids started school Sharon went back to work.  She worked at Dianna's Beauty Shop in Bristow with Pat Dye before helping her husband run Kens Service Station.  When the station closed, they spent the next couple of years team driving truck for Mike Klasna Trucking.

Later in life Sharon enjoyed quilting.  She operated Quilting in The Valley for many years until she just couldn't do it anymore.  She was member of the Sacred Heart Parish of Boyd County as well as a longtime member of the Bristow American Legion Auxiliary #76.

Most of all, Sharon loved her grandchildren and spending time with them. She enjoyed attending all of their activities.

Sharon is survived by her husband of 58 years, Kenneth Bruegman of Bristow, NE; two children, Sharla (Mike) Snodgrass of Neligh, NE, and Perry (Sheryl) Bruegman of Bristow, NE; 7 grandchildren, Derek, Colby, Kristen and husband Zach, Stephanie and husband Kent, James, Danika and Charle; 9 great grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Marvene Courtney of Lynch, NE and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles, and Edna (Bryant) Courtney; a sister; 3 brothers; a niece; her mother-in-law and her father-in-law.
