Private Family Services will be held for Sharon Rose Zakrzewski, age 78, of O'Neill, Nebraska. Sharon went home to meet Jesus on Wednesday morning, March 1, 2023 at her home in rural O'Neill. Arrangements are entrusted to Biglin's Mortuary of O'Neill.

Sharon Rose Velder was born on February 17, 1945 in Tilden, NE to Jerome and Helen (Rodgers) Velder. She attended Valentine Public Schools and O'Neill Public Schools before graduating from O'Neill. Sharon met Gary Zakrzewski in O'Neill and the couple married on January 29, 1965. To this union, four children were born: Michele, Meleony, Milissa, and Jeremy.

Sharon enjoyed and was very talented at keeping things running smoothly. She juggled many tasks with grace and grit. From raising children to dispatching, and from cooking to bookkeeping – she did it all. She wore many hats, and wore them all incredibly well without expecting any sort of recognition.

Sharon enjoyed crocheting, reading books, watching western TV shows, and playing slot machines at the casino. Her greatest pride and joys, however, were seeing her grandchildren and great grandchildren learn and grow.

She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Gary Zakrzewski; children, Michele (Charlie) Babl, Meleony (Troy) Wright, Milissa Zakrzewski, and Jeremy (Carly) Zakrzewski; 9 grandchildren, Adam and Christopher Babl, Allison, Travis (Megan) Wright, Reagan Smith, and Cody, Hannah, Blake, and Case Zakrzewski; 4 great grandchildren; and sister, Connie Velder.

Sharon was preceded by her parents, Jerome and Helen (Rodgers) Velder; infant son, Gerald; and brother, Merlin.
