Celebration of Life Services for Verla M. DeLong, age 79 of Fremont, NE formerly of Inman, NE will be held at 5 PM Friday, June 18, 2021 at Biglin's Mortuary in O'Neill, NE. Randy Schmeichel will officiate. Visitation will be on Friday from 3 PM until time of the service. Verla passed away on Monday, June 14, 2021 at Dunklau Gardens in Fremont, NE. Arrangements are under the direction of Biglin's Mortuary in O'Neill.

Verla Mae DeLong was born on September 21, 1941 in Little Rock, IA to William and Verna (Kruse) Spieker. Verla grew up in Little Rock where she graduated from Little Rock High School in 1960. She married Bill DeLong, Sr. on December 28, 1962 in Little Rock, IA. To this union five children were born, Teresa, Lori, Bill, Jr., Wendy and Brian. They lived in Herman, NE until 1966 when they moved to the farm south of Inman, NE, where they lived for many years.

She enjoyed gardening, fishing, cross stitching, and spending time with her family and friends.

Verla is survived by her husband, Bill DeLong, Sr. of York, NE; children, Teresa DeLong of O'Neill, NE, Lori DeLong of Inman, NE, Bill DeLong, Jr. of York, NE, Wendy (Junior) Kopetjka of Fremont, NE. and Brian DeLong of Corpus Chrsti, TX; 10 grandchildren, Don (Alicia) DeLong, Nick Nekolite, James Kilcoin all of O'Neill, NE, Michelle DeLong of Stuart, NE, Michael Larkowski of Lincoln, NE, John Larkowski of Atkinson, NE, Rachel DeLong and fiancé Drake Whitemagpie of Lincoln, NE, Shane (Taryn) Jensen of O'Neill, NE, Ethan DeLong and Emma DeLong of Corpus Chrsti, TX; 10 great grandchildren; one sister, Sheila Klaassen of Sibley, IA; many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Verna Spieker, sister, Eileen Christens, daughter, Lisa DeLong and grand- daughter Ashleigh Nekolite.
