Viola Fricke, age 97, of O'Neill passed away on Sunday, November 12, 2017 at the O'Neill Care and Rehabilitation Center in O'Neill.

Following her wishes, her body has been cremated and there will be a private burial at the O'Neill Cemetery at a later date.

Biglin's Mortuary in O'Neill is in charge of arrangements.

Viola Alvena Berns was born on October 2, 1920 in Glidden, Iowa to William and Freda (Hebbel) Berns.  She married William O. Fricke in Buffalo, New York on December 14, 1940.

Viola is survived by her two children, Bill D. Fricke of O'Neill, Jeannette Eby, and husband, Fred, of O'Neill; nine grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.

Viola was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bill in 2000; five brothers, and five sisters.
