Sep 3, 1956 — Aug 18, 2021
A Memorial Service for Wade C. Latzel, age 64, of O'Neill, Nebraska will be 7:00 PM Monday, August 23, 2021 at Biglin's Mortuary in O'Neill. Pastor Mike Durre will officiate. Visitation will be on Monday from 5:00 PM until the time of the service. It was Wade's decision to donate life through organ donation so others may live it. He passed away on Wednesday, August 18, 2021 at Avera St. Anthony's Hospital in O'Neill. Memorials may be directed to the family for future designation. Biglin's Mortuary of O'Neill is in charge of arrangements.
Clarence Wade Latzel was born on September 3, 1956 in Oak Ridge, OR to Clarence and JoAnn (Doud) Latzel. He attended High School in O'Neill. Wade married the love of his life, Diane Walton, on April 27, 1974 at the Christ Lutheran Church in O'Neill. Together, the couple raised two children: Dave and Sonya. Diane later passed away in November of 2009 after 35 years together. In the 12 years following her passing, Wade longed for his best friend – missing Diane dearly.
Wade loved to hunt deer and being outdoors. He enjoyed drag racing and always living life on the edge. Towards the end of his life, Wade developed a passion for cats. He loved his family, spending time with his grandchildren, and will be missed by all who knew him.
Wade is survived by his children, Dave (Amy) Latzel of O'Neill, NE and Sonya Wendell of Fairfax, SD; 8 grandchildren, Jackson, McCoy, Bodie, Brock, Paige (Dominic), Tori and fiancé Kyle, Madyson and Cason; one great grandchild, Barric; sister, Dee (Fred) Tiedgen of Meadow Grove, NE; brother, Bradey (Vicki) Latzel of Inman, NE; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Diane Latzel; parents, Clarence Latzel and JoAnn Timm; step dad, Ron Timm; and sister, Carole Anne Latzel.
