Wayne Henry Rowse was born April 6, 1922 at his home near Ballagh, Nebraska to George and Ulalia (Gumb) Rowse. He attended Country School near Chambers. He then moved with his parents to Clearwater for two years, then moved back to Chambers and graduated in 1940. He went on to attend Sheet Metal School in Lincoln, Nebraska.
Wayne married Evelyn Porter on June 16, 1942 in Wayne, Nebraska. To this union, five children were born; Linda, Arlin, David, Brian, and Brenda.
He worked for Bell Aircraft, building the P39 Air Cobra fighter airplane in Buffalo, NY. In 1943, Wayne was drafted into the US Navy. He was stationed in Japan and Hawaii. He was Honorably Discharged in 1945 and moved back to Nebraska to start his own electrical company. His electrical work led him to work on some of the first Black and White TV's in the area. His first house he wired was the Clarence Tibbets House where Darrel Elkins lives now. Wayne worked very hard building his business in both residential and commercial electrical work and eventually established Rowse Electric on main street Chambers where it still presently stands. In his new business location, he sold and repaired electrical motors, worked on small appliances, and he trenched, bored, and spliced telephone cable for Peerless Construction. As time went on, he started a small motorcycle repair shop. He retired in 2000. After Evelyn passed away in 2000, Wayne met Peggy Silbernagel and they were married on March 3, 2001 in Dewey, Arizona.
When Wayne wasn't working, he found time to do the things he enjoyed; bowling, ski boating at Goose Lake, Harley Motorcycles, Cushman Scooters, fishing and listening to polka music.
Wayne was a member of the Chambers American Legion #320, Chambers Memorial Baptist Church, and the Bethany Presbyterian Church.
Wayne had placed his faith in Jesus Christ as his personal Savior. John 3:16 "For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life".
Wayne is survived by his five children, Linda (Butch) Nielsen of Lincoln, Arlin (Willie) Rowse of Chambers, David (Diane) Rowse of Seward, Brian Rowse of Chambers, Brenda (Mike) McNair of Lincoln; two step-children, Margie Williamson of Chambers, Calvin Smith of Mayer, AZ; seven grandchildren; many step grandchildren; six great grandchildren; one brother, Nyal (Gloria) Rowse of Stromsburg, Nebraska; many nieces and nephews.
