Obituary

Private Services for William D. (Bill) Paxton, age 71, of Page, NE will be at a later date. Memorials can be made to the family for future designation. Bill passed away on July 26, 2021 at his home in Page, NE. Arrangements are entrusted to Biglin's Mortuary of O'Neill.

Bill was born on January 21, 1950 to William and Mary Paxton in Oak Creek, CO. He attended Sorroco High School, graduating in 1968. He moved to Texas and worked for his uncle on air conditioning and also enjoyed participating in rodeos. Bull riding was a passion of his and he rode bulls and saddle broncs starting at the age of 17. After he wasn't able to ride, he enjoyed watching and keeping up with all riders.

In the 80's, he returned to Colorado. He suffered a massive stroke in 1988 and could not return to work. He spent his time helping out at Oak Creek Liquor and Spiros Trading Post owned by Virginia Frihauf. Bill and Virginia later married on September 17, 1994. In July of 2020, the couple moved to Page.

Bill was a great outdoorsman and loved to hunt and fish, taking once-in-a-lifetime hunts for moose and caribou. The best part about his hunts was the ability to cook them up. He enjoyed having company and serving up smoked ribs, Pico de gallo, and fish fries.

Bill was a hard-working man full of humility and integrity. He never backed down from a challenge and often-times saw them as opportunities. His optimism and hard-working attitude were an inspiration, as was his faith. His grandkids were his pride and joy and he enjoyed attending their events.

Bill is survived by his wife, Virginia of Page, NE; daughters, Deeann (Mike) Wood of Chambers, NE, Kristine (Mark) Schlabs of Hills City, SD, Nicole Paxton, and Melanie Paxton; 9 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; 4 brothers, Glen (Debbie) Paxton of Arizona, Otto Paxton of Thornton, CO, Jim (Christie) Paxton of Ft. Collins, CO, and Ed Paxton of Oak Creek, CO; 4 sisters, Eunice (Mike) Linton of Craig, CO, Mary Jean Fuchs of Sweet Spring, MO, Sharon Talley of St. Louis, MO, and Chris Walker of Texas; numerous other family and friends.

Bill is preceded by his parents; brothers-in-law, Larry Fuchs and Clinton Talley; and sister-in-law, Penny Paxton.
